(More customer reviews)Well it sure is nice to see that someone is paying attention. When I purchased this item , I also responded to a previous review to point out that this is not for the DX6i, nor does the DX6i need it as it is already balanced. Since then PTO Toys has updated their description of this item. Kudos!
This works great to fix the balance problem on the DX7. One suggestion. Before you mount it, unscrew the strap eye on the radio about 2 turns. (Important; no need to remove back cover. The part that this eyelet threads into is secured with adhesive inside and won't turn). Apply a drop or two of Locktite Blue to the threads and screw back in, stopping when it is vertical. Let it dry overnight and then attach this unit. If you don't do this, the eyelet will turn and there is no good way to tighten it in a vertical position once it loosens up. Use only the Locktite BLUE, as it will hold, but if you need to remove it someday it will release with pressure from small hand tools. You may also want to apply Locktite Blue to the 2 screws on the bracket, but I'd wait until you sure it's adjusted properly.
