(More customer reviews)This tank was purchased on 11/26/10 as a Christmas present for me so I did not open it until Christmas day. This is important because of a warranty issue. The tank worked fine for about two weeks before breaking. I only used the tank for about 15 minutes each day, and the total time this tank operated before it broke was about 3.5 hrs. Without warning, the caterpillar track on the right side came apart making the tank unable to run. The plastic tank track is held together by a 1.5 inch metal pin, and I thought I could fix it myself by simply sliding the pin through the several loops that hold the tank tracks together. Unfortunately this did not work because one of the plastic loops was actually torn. Thus, I would need a replacement track.
I contacted Amazing Tech Depot via E-mail through Amazon. I wanted a warranty repair done on the tank. Amazing Tech Depot's response was that the tank was only under warranty for 30 days,but if I gave them a 5 Star rating, they would send me a replacement track so I could fix it myself. I don't know why I assumed the warranty was at least 90 days, but in looking at the product box and the Instruction Manual, no mention is made of an actual warranty time period. I did not agree to their offer, because this is not a quality product. I can't give this tank or the vendor a 5 Star rating.
I cannot recommend this tank because it is not a durable or quality product. In searching the web for replacement tracks on my own I've seen numerous complaints about problems with the plastic tracks breaking on Heng Long tanks. So, I'm left with a broken tank. Plastic replacement tracks are not easy to find. Metal ones are available, but they would cost about $100. I do not want to put any more money into this tank.
