The power is in the second car (see the little light at the top in the pic), so it pushes the engine instead of the regular train engines that pull. And the engine it comes with is very light so it jackknifes easily. It's fine if you run on a simple straight track with very wide turns and no hills, but once you start going around sharp bends or multiple hills, hills upon hills, turns at the end of hills, it derails and angers my 3 year old to no end. This was a poor Geotrax design. We have loved every bit of the Geotrax system and were very sorry that this one didn't work out for us.
