So seeing this crane that seemed cool to play with yet seemed like it would tip over and break easily, I wasn't sure if we should buy it or not. We bought it about a month ago now, and so far so good. It was very easy to put together, could be a bit more durable... maybe securely snap in rather then slide in; but it does its job and holds it in place. The base is steadier then other crane bases I have seen, the legs extend out a bit to help steady the crane. The truck that comes with is a bonus I feel as some crane's come solo. So its nice to have that truck to load things into. Being able to control the crane was the biggest thing my son wanted. He loves how it makes crane sounds, it turns 680 degrees, the hook can lower and rise and comes with the lifting bucket as well. It stands 30.5 inches high as stated by the company. Cranes need balance so it has its limits if lifting a heavier item - you will need to balance out the other side or I'm sure it will tip over. We have not had that problem. We added a little weight to that side, not much a pound or 2 at most depending on what he was doing. But, it has taught him more about balance to care for the toy. He enjoys moving his knex and lego parts around in it as "real construction" I certainly think it has an educational value there learning to balance and utilizing the crane to build his creations.
