(More customer reviews)I've owned over a dozen flying Air Hogs toys and most of them been quite enjoyable. This one is the best yet. I fly it with my three-year-old son. He can fly it pretty well, although it seems to have a fatal attraction to trees and roofs. It doesn't handle winds very well. The biggest improvement in this model over past models is the sturdier tail fin. Older air hogs planes had flimsy tail fins that came off easily -- especially since kids like to pick the plane up by the tail fin. You put six AA batteries in the controller (rechargeables are OK) and then charge the plane from the controller. It flies about 10 minutes on a charge. You will get a bit faster charging and more power from alkalines than NIMH but both work fine. We have some older air hogs planes that have literally been crashed into things hundreds of times and still fly. You can turn left, right, and climb or descend -- with a little practice you can get pretty accurate. One of my favorite toys overall, and a fantastic father/son activity. We like to play a game where I fly the plane and the kids try to bat it out of the air with play swords - believe it or not the planes suffer a bit from this abuse but still fly.
