This plane is NOT designed for someone new to RC flight. The product description is not very good as it does not tell you that the plane does not come with everything needed to get it into the air. To get it flying you will need to buy a number of things and know how to assemble a foam based model airplane. More specifically, you will need the following items.
1) An electric motor. The instructions suggest two different motors depending on where you want to fly.
2) An electronic speed controller for the motor.
3) A battery. Not just any battery either. One designed for RC planes.
4) A propeller. Different types are suggested because different props change the way it flies.
5) A radio transmitter and receiver. This plane is aimed at someone already into RC flying that probably already has a radio.
6) Foam safe CA glue.
Who this plane IS designed for is someone that has a bit of RC experience and can build this lightweight airframe into an amazing aerobatic plane. The assembly is simple and straightforward and can be finished in just a couple hours. Once complete, you'll have an extremely light weight plane that can do almost any aerobatic or 3D maneuver you can think of. It's an amazing flier and is one of the most fun planes you will ever own. It will challenge you and make you a better pilot, all while putting a huge grin on your face.
The only thing I rated this plane low on was durability. That's because it is made out of foam and it can be broken easily if you are not careful. But that is normal for this type of plane.
I feel bad for someone that bought this expecting to just open the box, put batteries in, and be flying. The product description really should list what's needed to complete the plane.
For someone willing to go the extra steps for this plane, most if not all of the needed parts appear to be available here on Amazon. Just do a little research to find the exact parts you need and you will love this plane!
