(More customer reviews)Another purchase for my grandson and although he is enjoying playing with it, it is a mess. Plane is all styrofoam and had to be put together. First time he flew it, it flew for about 10 seconds and crashed down nose first. Pushed the nose inward and all the wings fell off. Lost the landing gear. Had to keep repairing it with packing tape. Antennea broke off of the radio controller. All this happened within the first half hour. Wouldn't recommend this at all. But the grandson loves it. lol

(More customer reviews)I have purchased a few micro heli's and ths is the best one overall that I have seen thus far. It is a 3-channel, which allows for up/down, spin left/right and forward/back movement. Like all micro copters, it is FRAGILE and must be used INDOORS, preferably on carpet. That being said, this copter is very resilient. The body is made of rather flexable plastic and the rotors are only semi-ridged, allowing it to withstand crashes pretty well. It charges in 15-20 minutes and will fly for about 5 min, which is average. It's forward movement is much faster than my other 3-ch micros and the body details look great. One thing to note, the description does not include the dimensions - this is a MICRO, so it's about 5 inches in length, kinda pricey for a micro

(More customer reviews)I got this as a Christmas present from my son who knows I am crazy about anything that flies. I bought myself a little Air-Hog a year ago and have flown it around the livingroom to amuse our 5 cats. (and myself) Worked great.
THIS one though is quite a step up. Lots more power and size and actually more stable and easily controled in flight. Although I can't see how it could be rated as being an indoor flyer. I have a large livingroom and 18 ft. high ceilings and I would NOT attempt to fly it in there. It is simply much larger and powerful than the air-hogs.
While I charged the battery, (in about an hour)I watched the DVD about flying it that was in the box. It said the rotors should be loose enough to "hang" down when it was tipped sideways. 3 of them did and 1 did not.
They were attached with very small phillips head screws and were difficult to see in the dim light so I hoped it would be okay. I checked out the rest of it but missed the part about "initializing" it on the DVD and promptly got my finger sliced by a rotor. Like I said, Lots of power.
Back to the DVD and now I got it. I don't tell anyone and just slip out back to try it out. I set it down, turn all the switches and step back a ways (once bitten) and initialize it. Up it Goes! Straight up about 20 feet and then down pretty hard. I wince as it lands and tips over. Try again. Same thing. and again. same. Hm-mm-mm. I pick it up and look it over. A few nicks on the blades but not bad. Seems pretty rugged, but I think the radio signal may not travel this far. Try it again and this time it hits hard enough to pop the Lithium battery pack out of it. Pop it back in and set the controller down beside it and just look. And I SEE. I had never extended the antenna out at all. Okay lets try it now.
Up it Goes and its great. It hovers and spins and I remember to use the little trim knobs to adjust it and its flying beautifully. Responsive and stable and powerful enough to fight a slight breeze. This time, I land it by a small bush and the blade catches a branch. I pick it up and move over to the clearing. This time, it wobbles badly and shudders hard but flies anyway. It lands and I look it over. One of the blades has the tip broken off. Must have been the bush. It comes with 4 extra blades so I find the screwdriver this time and replace it with the help of a magnifying glass. No more time for flying today. But I am looking forward to tomorrow. And in spite of myself, its still in one piece. This would be a great gift for a teenager that is interested in flight and has just a little patience to practice flying before maxxing it out. And it seems to be rugged enough to survive a 58 year old construction worker.

(More customer reviews)I got this new chopper from syma. the manual is horribly translated. (made in china)
the heli spun uncontrollably. the manual, in broken english, suggests adjusting the potentiometer. unfortunately this model does not have one. after alot of gess work and patience i figured out that the trim is adjusted on the left and right shoulder buttons. it took a while to finally get it straightened out, but it is possible to adjust the trim so i had to rewrite the review. it is fun once you get the hang of it, but it is still way too weak to work outside with even a slow wind. i was flying it and the leaves weren't even moving on the trees but it still managed to be thrown off course. on a plus side. i own some nice country side and managed to fly it up pretty high. it hit a tree and slammed face first into the ground. not even a scratch. pretty durable from what i've experienced. inside however, it works well. but because of it's size it is hard to practice indoors.
Ultimately, i would rather own the micro version. it may not be suited to the outdoors at all, but indoors, it is still a fun toy that won't break anything. the same cannot be said for this one.

Apache Ah-64 Feral Beast 4ch RC Helicopter Review

(More customer reviews)I looked high and low for a decent low-priced multi-channel RC helicopter. After trying a few cheap models, I ran into this one. It's got all the features of a more expensive unit, and is very well built. One of the stabilizer bar weights did spin off, but I should have checked that. Rather than buy the whole assembly, I just Gorilla-glued a same-weighted cap nut to the end, and it works great. I've crashed this copter a few times, but never real hard - yet. It's survived the crashes well. Keep an eye on the ball-joint connection from the stabilizer to the upper blades. It comes off easy in a crash, but at least it doesn't break! Otherwise, no other damage in medium-harsh crashes. It seems heavy, but the batteries are very powerful, and easily lift the unit to hover. I haven't perfected the controls yet, but it's not a kid's toy. I'd consider this a high quality entry-level amateur RC unit. For the money, you certainly can't go wrong.

3-Ch Indoor RC Chinook Helicopter Review

(More customer reviews)I have purchased three of these SYMA Model S022 mini Chinook helis. The first flew very well indoors; however it would not hold a charge. I could have ordered another battery but the cost to ship a new battery and the difficulty to change out the battery proved more expensive that ordering a new product. I ordered two new products and I am now flying one and gave another as a gift to a friend who is enjoying the S022. I broke down the first S022 for parts.
This is an good product for transitioning into a tandem rotor heli system. It has flight characteristics different that the co-ax systems most people start with. Its typically stable without the need of a gyro and performs well throughout most flight conditions. If you want to experience a tandem 3 channel mini this is could be your product of choice. The fit and finish of this model is excellent. I would consider an upgrade to the SYMA Model S026 after getting some flight time with the S022. The S026 is a true radio controlled product (27 Mhz) that has the same rugged design ad the S022.
Bottom-Line: The SYMA S022 is a good tandem rotor toy heli for the price. It is a bit small but makes up for the enjoyment of flying a tandem rotor heli. I does take some time to transition from a single coax to a tandem coax system since you can trim the pitch but its well worth the experience.

(More customer reviews)Bought nine SYMA 3 Channel S012 Mini AH-64 RC Helicopters from Amazon.Com for 9 yr old nephew, three nieces, 8 yrs, 9yrs and 11 yrs, and 32yr old son (so the kids would go home with a helicopter that worked when they left). These helicopters are rugged!
They were also the star present from Santa. The four youngsters learned to fly them up, down, forward and back, hovering and diving, with the only grumble that they had to wait while they recharged. 9 yr old nephew took the rockets attached to the sides off as he found them too cumbersome and had it diving all over the place, coming round a corner to attack. My niece had it flying around evading a rolled up napkin nephew was using to attempt to bring it down. Helicopter dropped numerous times but they all went home in one piece. These little helicopters are solid. I know, I've bought them each Christmas for the past three years and had these kids crying when they left to go home with broken planes. Not this Christmas though.
So I gave the remaining four to my sister, sister-in-laws, and daughter's boy friend who weren't as tough on them as the kids but who had just as great a time with them.
