(More customer reviews)The Castle Creations Mamba Max system has just got to be the best motor/ESC combo you can buy. It's made for light chassis on-road and off-road vehicles, and if you call Castle, they will tell you the same. I went just a bit out-of-the-box, and mounted TWO Mamba Max systems wired in parallel to the receiver of one of my E-Maxxes. Using the stock pinion gears, this truck is good for 45-50MPH, and acceleration is BRUTAL, but the ESC's get VERY hot. I replaced the stock pinions for two 15T, which cooled down the ESC's considerably.I programmed both ESC's at the same time (I didn't use the Castle link, which is included), so there were no set-up conflicts down the road, which could easily destroy not just the spur gear, but some attendant driveline parts as well.
Of course, none of the above is recommended, as it will void the warranty, but I had to try it at least once. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm having a blast with it so far!
Be aware that these combos have different motors. Do a bit of research on the motor choice you want to use. I chose the highest Kv rating (7700) for the two systems I put in my E-Maxx. The lower rated motors are a perfect choice for single system use. I have punished, and continue to punish, the dual system with no negative effects so far, which says alot for their durability!

The 7700Kv motor lets it all hang out for 6 cell or 2s lipo bashing and racing. On 6 cell NiMH the 7700Kv motor turns an easy 45mph in standard 10th scale buggies and trucks with standard gearing. With 2s lipo packs, you can expect 50mph for very large tracks or high speed runs. The 7700Kv motor is roughly equivalent in top speed to a very good 5t to 7t brushed motor on 6 cells. Due to extreme motor RPMs, the 7700Kv motor is limited to 8 cell NiMH or 2s Lipo MAX.
