My two-year old loves music but destroyed two CD-players by constantly pressing the buttons and opening and closing the units; I was searching for a durable MP3 player without lots of buttons and "Carry A Tune" is exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to hold, durable (has been dropped and even thrown down a flight of stairs and still worked) and allows you to download your own MP3s or children's music CDs onto it. The buttons are simple but still a little bit beyond my son's understanding. An excellent feature is the auto-off feature which saves batteries. Battery life is pretty good.
We discovered recently, however, that the unit is not waterproof when it was dropped into the bathtub by my son. Of course, it is not supposed to be waterproof. We love this so much I am going to buy another one.

LEGO 2GB MP3 Player Review

It is a lot smaller than I was expecting (2 5/8in long, 5/8in deep), and it has the capability to stack LEGOs on top and underneath it, which is neat and nostalgic. I like fidgeting with the LEGOs while I listen to it on longer subway rides. The package even comes with 2 matching LEGOs to get you started, and a pair of cheap little white earbuds (which are just about as good as you would expect, no better or worse).
Now, let's get down to what the player can do. It has a very tiny little LCD screen, and a small nubbie type control button that you push to move around the menus with. It is intuitive to use but comes with easy instructions as well. It might be hard to use if you have really large clumsy fingers or have a tough time seeing small font. There are 3 menus, the music menu, the pictures, and the options. Music is sorted in terms of albums and artists, and is simple to navigate. As the music plays, it displays the album title and track title, along with cover art (if you put that on the player as well). As far as music goes, it plays music fine. It does add a delay to the beginning of songs, and it has a "fadeout" time when you pause a song. It plays about 1-2seconds longer than you would like and fades a bit. It doesn't bother me much though. What has begun to bother me is the fact that you can't look around the other menus and play a song. Any time you stray from the song playing menu, the song stops. Therefore, you can't line up the next song while the current one is playing.
In the photo menu, I can't figure out how to do anything but display the pictures. You can't set any of them as wallpaper or anything, all you can do is view them, and the screen is way too small and pixelated for it to be a useful feature. It seems like a slightly useless menu option. In the options menu, you can alter the brightness, the backlight, mess with the equalizer, change the language, and set a sleep timer. I was surprised because it doesn't have any sort of clock built into it. I liked being able to check the time on my old MP3 player. It doesn't have any program that you need to install for it, you just plug it in to the computer and load your music on. No need for any outside program or anything. It has an optional LEGO skin for your windows media player, but it is just an optional perk.
As far as battery life goes, I have not had it long but it seems to be playing strong. The package boasts 7-8hrs, and I will edit the review if I find any discrepancies. If what you are looking for is an attractive pocket-size little MP3 player, this should fit the bill.
Advantages:
Nostalgic and cute.
Stackable with LEGO bricks.
Small and portable.
No installation needed.
Simple to use with good instruction manual.
Disadvantages
Only 2gb
LCD screen is tiny and harder to see than most screens
Songs "fade" when you pause and restart songs
Can't look through menus while songs are playing.
No clock feature

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Farm Review

Lots of mini activities - feeding the cow, "planting the flowers" having the eggs slide through the shoot. All the noises and songs, opening and closing the barn door.
Dislike:
Putting it together. It took about 30 minutes to get all the pieces screwed in and assembled. It probably took that long because my son was eager to get his hands on this awesome looking toy and wanted to play with it while we were putting it together.
Why I'm giving it a 5:
It seems pricey for a FP toy, (we bought it on a buy 2 get 1 free promo and got the farm, home and the rock and bounce pony), so it wasn't too bad. FP toys are very sturdy, with a rough baby and 2 dogs, any toy that makes it through and still look brand new is amazing.
Very interactive. Teaches cause and effect. The sounds of the farm animals and the door creaking when it opens and a "slam" when it shuts cracks my baby up. He loves being able to "crawl" through the door. It did take him a little bit why he couldn't "walk" through, and watching him crouch down and waddle though was a hoot. He eventually gave up and crawled.
Even without the extra pieces (eggs, flowers) it's still a lot of fun. We brought it over to a friends house to entertain the little ones - awesome. They had so much fun just messing around with it.
We haven't had a toy that keeps our kid entertained for a long period of time AND something he wants to go back to.
IF YOU ARE DEBATING on getting this vs the HOME - get the home. It has a few more extras and activities to do. Only bonus about the farm is the radio - it makes "static" noises so it's like you're tuning a radio. The home one has a clock that you can teach time and it's a little bigger opening for the doorway.

(More customer reviews)I got this after getting the Star Station for my son, but only being able to use the cartriges there. My son LOVES this and listens to this in the car all the time. I love it because he gets to listen to his music and I don't. :)
He even enjoys it soo much that he took it to his first Sharing Day at Kindergarten. He says he listens to it so that he can practice to be on American Idol. Whatever his reason, I love it because it allows him to listen to music and is VERY durable!!!

mi Flower Review

Like the iDog etc., it lights up and has a face with expression, it snores etc. She and her friends get a big kick out of it. The only downside is that it is run on batteries. (Reminds me of those round, colorful transister radios which I loved in my youth.) For an inexpensive speaker set, this one is a hit with the younger crowd!

I doesnt move its feet or its arms, just twists its waist a little, bops its head, and lifts the doors. -Better sound quality even without EQ...I just hated how bad the Nano sounds even with Shure headphonesSoftware
-Very simple and easy
-Asthetically better than iTunes
User Interface
-No Coverflow but interface is more organized and intuitive
-Customizable background, not an option on Nano
-Easier to read
I have not tested the battery life but it's rated close to the Nano so I'll live with whatever it really is. One thing I haven't checked on but someone else wrote about was the Zune not being a UMS Device when plugged in. Hopefully that's something Microsoft can/will change so that you can store other files on it. Overall, I'm must more satisfied with this player than the Nano.

It is so easy to use. Seems very durable and we had no trouble with batteries etc- Everything fit right in. Everyone here from 16 months to 60 enjoyed playing with it so it got a good workout. The only problem I had with it is the noise which can get irritating after awhile. It is too constant of a sound when it is on. It is a great first time remote control car though.

You would have thought it was Christmas again my son was so excited about his new CD player. Right out of the box, the CD player worked alright, although the sound was pretty terrible. Within two days, the CD player just quit reading any CDs. My son was very careful with it, so it didn't break from being banged around. Needless to say, I had to send it back, and now I have one very dissappointed 4-year old.

(More customer reviews)The Fisher-Price Learning Music Player is one of my daughter's favorite toys. Her grandparents bought it for her first birthday and two months later she still loves it. She carries it around the house and dances to the music. There are so many great things about this toy:
+ Good Songs: Not only does *she* like them, but they are comparatively good for a children's toy. There are enough of them that the repetition isn't overly grating.
+ Lightweight: My daughter is easily able to carry this toy around with her, whether walking (unsteadily) or crawling.
+ Baby Friendly Design: The handles make the toy easy for her to carry. The buttons easily allow her to skip songs and/or to repeat her favorites. (The handles also make it easy to attach it high chairs/play pens/car seats if you have plastic ring links, which can usually be found in the baby section of most department stores.)
+ Durable: In two months it has withstood a tremendous amount of toddler abuse (i.e. flinging, banging, chewing).
+ Off Button: This toy comes with a recessed "on/off" switch on the back that tiny fingers can't manipulate. (Which is why this is one of the few toys that we haven't removed the batteries from.)
+ Entertaining: This toy distracts her when she is cranky and entertains her in boring situations (i.e. car rides). It really is developmentally appropriate for young toddlers; it holds her attention so much longer than similar electronic baby toys.
I really cannot recommend this toy enough. I'm not a huge fan of plastic/blinking/noise making toys, but this is one that my daughter really enjoys. The Fisher-Price Learning Music Player is one of the few toys that I'll actually search the house for when it has been misplaced.

Basic Fun Fisher Price TV Radio Review

My kid is 2 1/2 and I bought the radio thinking that it had more than one song on it andmore to do. It plays "Farmer in the Dell" only. He likes it okay, but he's going to get sick of it really, really fast. I think that this would be a fantastic present for a one year old's birthday or Christmas.

We already have 2 fridge toys by this company (the animal matching one and the uppercase letter one) and I was so impressed that I sprung for the DJ toy. Our 12 month old loves hanging out in the kitchen but the above 2 toys were a bit beyond her and I wanted something that she could operate easily that would keep her amused. She's taken to carrying it around the house and dancing to the music when the feeling strikes her. Her 3 yr old sister and her have had a few fights over the toy as the educational information appeals to the older child.
Pros:
+ Numerous songs - not just one annoying one, but 3 difference 'stations' with multiple songs
+ Educational - I love that it teaches upper AND lower case with graphics
+ Graphics: although simple (looks like a scoreboard) the graphics dance around to the music and keep their interest
+ Easy to operate for the baby (one button to press)
+ Music - not bad, kinda jazzy; they slowed down the alphabet song which is great for character recognition
+ Can use it on the fridge or carry it around
Cons:
+ Music sounds kinda tinny (but for $19.99...what do you expect?)
+ My 12 month old tried to use it to help her stand on the fridge but the magnets weren't strong enough and she slid down with the toy
+ Kinda heavy for it's size - just fell on my 3 yr old's foot. Lots of complaining
I highly recommend it!
