(More customer reviews)Unfortunately it seems the aircraft came with a dead NIMH battery thet wont hold a charge. This has made the plane virtually unfyable as it will not run for any length of time to even get airborne for more than 10 seconds. Assuming a new and decent battery this aircraft might be ok, but there has to be virtually no wind, and control is difficult because there are no control surfaces, just variable engine power to make turns. It is hard to recommend it based on this fact. If you want something that is at least more predictable in control, go for a kit that has elevator and rudder or aileron control surfaces and servos etc. If nothing else, this plane has taught me a good basic bit of R/C knowledge as I tried to problem solve its various issues.

(More customer reviews)This plane is awesome to fly, but also requires a lot of skill--spend many hours practicing on a simulator or with a plane that comes mostly pre-assembled before flying this one. The motor that comes with the plane doesn't have enough power--you will want to upgrade to a brushless system right away. Use blue masking tape to hold parts in place when assembling and have both foam safe CA glue and 5-minute epoxy on hand. This plane took much more time and care to assemble than I had anticipated when I bought it.

(More customer reviews)It only took 2 attempts for this thing to completely fall apart.
1st Attempt: I tried flying the plane the right way, with a departing takeoff from the ground using the wheels. No Way, the wheels broke off after remaining on the ground for 10 feet with no takeoff.
2nd Attempt: The second time around, I decided to try and fly it from the air, giving the plane a good throw after starting the engine, with the propellers on full blast. Not a Chance, the plane took a dive and the entire nose of the plane broke off!
It was educational for only one reason, that I will buy something of better quality next time! Whatever you do, do not purchase this product, and to top it off, the shipping took forever!

It doesn't work as advertised and it was very expensive considering that the wings of the plane are a flimsy material that doesn't last past the 2nd time that it flies, (or doesn't fly as it happened. A terrible disappointment and complete waste of money. I would have given 0 stars as a rating but the program would not allow for this.

(More customer reviews)I own a dozen different Air Hog products. See my other reviews. All of the others are very good or great. These, however, are terrible. I bought three of these at the same time from two different retailers. One didn't work at all out of the box. The other two barely fly, if at all. Do yourself a favor and just make a paper airplane yourself! Or better yet pick out another Air Hogs model. Many others in this price range are alot more fun.

Sea Gull WL801 2 Channel Radio Controlled Airplane Review

(More customer reviews)This plane is foam. All of it. So when my six year old touched it part of horizontal stabilizer broke off before it had recorded any flight. It charges easily, but it's flying characteristics are not suited to a child of 6. The nine year old did well with it. Trying to create a turn leads to an explosion of power to one engine and the thing climbs, so a coordinated turn requires pulling back the throttle. Need a lot of altitude for stall recovery, and if it has broken after the stall all you can do is add power, which of course means you are accelerating at the ground.
After 3 flights the wing was dislodged from the fuselage, and after a few more flights we couldn't get the wing to stay on the fuselage for more then a few seconds, leading to some interesting in-flight breakups. It looks like the wing is supposed to press fit onto the fuselage but that doesn't work in reality.
I can't find any online help of advice on reattaching the wing - we're going to try some white glue and see what happens.
The directions that come with the plane get you started ok but otherwise are not too helpful, and the english is laughable.
Bottom line is plan on $2/minute for your fun before it falls apart unless you're an expert r/c flyer.
I do think that salvaging the servos and motors will lead to some interesting creations with the kids so all is not lost.

(More customer reviews)What a total disappointment. It is so true, you get what you pay for. If the total cost of the plane with S&H was $20.00 I could see, but no, I paid $32.60. Virtually Indestructible was used to describe this plane. What exactly does "Virtually" mean. The nose on the A/C bent up on the first flight with a fairly easy landing. By the end of the third flight the little black nose tip and the entire front end were a crushed mass of bend up strudy foam. And get this... The solid foam construction, well this gave way and the electronics pack w/ the battery were up in the front of the A/C as well. And to beat all the horizontal Stab broke.
I know, I know, you're thinking yeah right... I have been flying RC a/C for years. I was going to introduce my son to an A/C he might be able to handle. Heck, his father couldn't! The first flight was a beautiful long graceful flight. Perfect landing. The next two attempts, the plane never got ten feet off the ground before winging over into the ground. No, Not pilot error! The A/C was trashed out in less than 10 minutes. Oh, and the battery, what a joke! We got one flight. Less than ten minutes. Needless to say...Do not waste your time or money on this product. It is a let down. Bought mine at [...] Don't make the mistake I did...
